Chaplaincy Australia is committed to ensuring that all of our accredited Chaplains and Chaplaincy Team Members are trained with purpose for the task at hand. Whilst the fundamental principles of chaplaincy do not change, the culture in which they are applied can be varied and diverse.
Take for example, the difference between a Chaplain placed in Emergency Services where Trauma Counselling and Crisis Co-ordination is required and a Chaplain to a professional sporting environment like the AFL where diverse communicative and cross cultural skills are necessary. Both areas of chaplaincy apply the same fundamental principles but use distinctive skill sets in how they are applied. All of this requires specific and alternate training needs for each chaplain.
In recent times Chaplaincy Australia has entered into a formal partnership with Alphacrucis to provide nationally accredited training to anyone interested in pursuing a career in Chaplaincy. The courses being offered include:
1. 10036NAT Diploma of Ministry (Chaplaincy)
2. CHC41108 Certificate IV in Pastoral Care
3. Chaplaincy Essentials
4. School Chaplaincy Upgrade

At times, various Chaplaincy governing bodies often place different training requirements upon their people. Instead of reinventing the wheel, Chaplaincy Australia aims to work along-side these governing bodies to promote their training. We also aim to provide our network members with other general and specialist training on a regular basis.
For those of you who are particularly interested in Hospital Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education is a complimentary non-accredited course that in many cases is a requirement of individual hospitals. To find out more about Clinical Pastoral Education please check out the information below.
