Welcome to our mentoring page!

We are passionate about chaplains, pastoral carers, pastors and leaders having good support and engaging in personal and professional development.

Having a mentor is an amazing opportunity to increase your support, enhance your spiritual reflection and to develop Professional Mastery. The mentoring relationship is a great source of encouragement.

There is something powerful about meeting with someone you trust every 2 or so months and having a safe confidential space to reflect on your ministry, to get encouragement, support and to gain a broader perspective on situations you may be facing.  Mentoring assists you to identify what you love to do, your calling, your core values and to better understand why you respond and react the way you do in certain circumstances.

Chaplaincy Australia Mentors are experienced ministers and leaders who are skilled in providing support in the mentoring framework. You can find them on the pages below.

If you would like to apply to become a Chaplaincy Australia Mentor click on the button below…

If you have any questions or need more information contact [email protected]

David Bunyon

David Bunyon

Recognised Mentor

David believes that life will always have its challenges and we are shaped in part by those challenges and how we deal with them. If we overcome, we are shaped by that experience. If we don’t, we are shaped a different way, often negatively! He believes we are created to overcome, and to be an overcomer is surely to be in a better place than the alternative. Overcoming requires a different perspective. This is best gained through the help of others who have gone before us or can see clearly, the bigger picture. A view we cannot see because of our own positioning. This is what Mentoring is all about!

With 30 years of Pastoral Care and Mentoring experience and having learnt to be an Overcomer himself,

David is passionate about and well equipped to help others who may be struggling with issues concerning careers, business, work, identity, relationship, parenting, emotional and spiritual stress, and just the legitimacy to live a life of love, joy, and peace.

He is an encourager and mentor with unique and extensive experience and is most satisfied when He sees people become the Overcomers they are called to be – a person who succeeds in dealing with or gaining control of some problem or difficulty – so that their life is made better!

David enjoys a good coffee, conversation, country, or beachside settings.

He is part of the Chaplaincy Australia Leadership Team in South Australia and is available for Mentoring appointments in and around Adelaide or for ZOOM meetings in other parts of the state or country.

After many years of working in ministry (including pastoral work) and as a professional coach, I now run “Kingdom Leaders” (www.kingdomleaders.com.au) where I offer coaching, mentoring and pastoral supervision.

I am especially passionate about assisting Christian leaders who are feeling burnt out or disillusioned through a process I call “re-envisioning”. My style is both empathetic and action oriented. I inspire others to not just survive change and pressure, but to embrace it as an opportunity to be released into their true, God-given potential and passions, and to learn new ways of balancing life, family and work/ministry.

I easily relate to people from diverse backgrounds, having lived in various parts of globe, and worked within corporate, small business, not-for-profit, churches and government sectors. My professional background is in both Learning and Organisational Development, and Business Management, having held Senior Executive roles in both, and started 3 businesses of my own.

Having overcome my own life complexities and faith hurdles such as grief, hope-deferred, recovery from illness, and redundancies, I can offer others both compassion and inspiration.

My qualifications include a Graduate Diploma in Bible & Missions, Masters in Adult Education, Diploma Management and a Diploma in Coaching. I am also due to complete my Grad Cert in Professional Supervision (Pastoral Stream) in 2022.

Recognised Mentor

Having worked in aged care chaplaincy for over 9 years has been an incredible privilege for me. In this setting I worked as team leader and trainer of pastoral care volunteers.

My professional background includes pediatric nursing, doula work (Birth Doula Certificate with Optimum Birth) and Christian Counseling and Family Therapy. In April 2018 I completed a Diploma of Christian Studies with the Australian College of Ministries, Sydney. This year (2022) I am studying professional supervision with St. Marks Theological Center, Canberra.

I am a wife, mother of 4 adult children and soon to be grandma. I love meeting and connecting with people, walks and talks along the beach or in rain-forest settings, baking and watching good movies.
My passion for mentoring originated in my young adult life where I experienced transformational change through informal yet intentional mentoring. I believe, mentoring is a biblical principle which is reflected in my ‘Christ- centered’ mentoring style.

Coming alongside you in your journey, watching you learn and grow and helping you in reaching your potential will be my focus.

I offer face to face mentoring around the Coffs Harbour area (NSW) or via zoom anywhere else. (English or German)
