Welcome to our supervision page!

We are passionate about ensuring that all those who provide Pastoral Care are receiving good support and engaging in personal and professional development.  This includes chaplains, pastors, pastoral carers, and leaders.

Professional Pastoral Supervision is a great way to engage in transformational learning, reflective practice and holistic self-care.

To have someone to meet with every 4 – 8 weeks in a safe confidential space to reflect on your ministry, to get encouragement, support and to gain a broader perspective on situations you may be facing.  To assist you to identify what you love to do, your calling, your core values and to better understand why you respond and react the way you do in certain circumstances.  It can also assist with skills training and learning pathways.

Chaplaincy Australia Recognised Supervisors are trained professional supervisors experienced in providing pastoral supervision. You can find them on the pages below.

Chaplaincy Australia Supervision Interns are those who have completed supervision training but are still needing to gain enough hours providing supervision to be recognised as a supervisor.  Interns do not charge for their services.

If you would like to apply to become a Recognised Chaplaincy Australia Supervisor or Supervision Intern follow the link below.

To become a Professional Supervisor you will need to undertake supervision training.  For more information email supervision@chaplaincyaustralia.com

Chaplaincy Australia Group Supervision

Chaplaincy Australia is pleased to offer Group Supervision in various locations across Australia including online.

See our coming events page for current groups you can join by registering online or you can register your interest or ask any questions by emailing  [email protected]

GROUP SUPERVISION INFORMATION

Group supervision provides a safe, confidential space for those in the helping professions to reflect on their work practices and experiences, and to gain a better understanding of the impact of these experiences.

Supervision is a vital part of maintaining health and wellbeing to be able to function successfully in your professional role. It helps to understand yourself better and to reflect on your responses to situations. Time is taken to consider things from a different perspective.

The benefits of having group supervision include receiving support, having a non-judgmental place to debrief as required, and the provision of a rich learning environment.

Each person is to bring a specific case or situation to discuss and reflect on with the group.  The group supervisor ensures that the process of supervision occurs and facilitates the session.

An example of what to bring to a group supervision session:

  1. Briefly describe the case/situation that you are bringing to group supervision
  2. Explain the particular aspect of the case/situation that you’d like to explore
  3. Discuss why you have brought this particular case/situation
  4. Tell the group what you would like to get from the group by bringing this today
